What is a Power Toboggan?

In the late 40’s, and into the 60’s one of the first single passenger, track-driven snowmobiles was built a few miles north of Beausejour by Mike Bosak. He called it a Power Toboggan. CPTC is the longest-running snowmobile race in the world, and was created back in 1963. When the first CPTC races were held, the term power toboggan was quite common in the area. CPTC is the premier snowmobile race in Canada, hence the name Canadian Power Toboggan Championships. To this day many people from Beausejour and the surrounding area still call snowmobiles, power toboggans.
